Nothing could have prepared me for…..

How tough this semester was going to be. I am very thankful to be in my last semester of RN school, but with that being said, I feel like I have no life. I am working full time, going to school full time and still trying to manage my life. I started this semester thinking, "This will be fun and I will do great!" Well I am doing fine and it is fun, but it is very time consuming. Probably more so than I thought. I have class 2 nights a week (Monday and Tuesday) and then I have clinical 2 days a week (Friday and Saturday). I work 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) and my only day off is Sunday. On my clinical days, I get up at 5am and am at the hospital from 6:30 to 2:30. By the time I get home, I am exhausted! I have care plans due every week and homework assignments due for class. My only "free night" is Wednesday. I decided to do a bowling league this semester, and I do that on Thursday. It really is fun for me.

My house is a tornado zone, I don't get much accomplished. Honestly, the last thing I want to do when I come home is do dishes or clean. I'd rather relax for a bit and then hit the books. Don't get me wrong, I still manage to have fun (sometimes) and hang out with the hubby and friends.

Here is a recap of events since December:

December, Jeremy and I celebrated our 7^th Christmas together! There was a huge blizzard on Christmas eve, and Jeremy almost did not make it home. I was sent home early from work, took me about 1 ½ hours to get home, and the road conditions were terrible. Jeremy was also at work and said that starting about 2pm, no one could even get into his parking lot. His DM finally let him close about 4pm, and he was stuck for about 2 hours. He got a ride to his grandparents house and called me and said he was headed home. About 1 ½ hours later, he arrived safely in their vehicle. I was scared that I would be alone for Christmas and he had to at least try to make it home, as he didn't want me to be alone. When Jeremy finally made it home, we put up our Christmas tree. It was the only time that we had time to put it up. Christmas day, Jeremy and I made breakfast and opened presents. We always enjoy this time together. With the holiday season being a busy one, this is usually one of his only days off. We usually go see a movie on Christmas day, but passed on it this year due to the weather. This picture was taken a day or two after the blizzard.

The weekend of Christmas, we went to Jeremy's grandparents house. This is a tradition they have had for years. The gathering usually consists of about 30 people. It is a fun time of being together and it seems that there is never a dull moment at the family gatherings. This was taken at his grandparents house during their Christmas celebration.

New Year's eve came and went really fast. We went to dinner with some friends and then over to another friends house for a party. Dinner was good, we went to Outback and enjoyed steak and then Leah & Neil were fabulous hosts for their New Year's Party. This was the first time we had done anything for New Year's in quite a few years. The picture on the top is Jeremy and I and the one on the bottom is our gracious hosts – Leah & Neil

As if having one Blizzard wasn't enough, we had another one in January. It was a huge ice storm and it reminded me on the one we had the previous year. Everything froze and I got some fun pictures of it! Our mailbox froze, our trash cans froze, the bushes were frozen too. It took a while for everything to de-ice!

Mid January I started school again, that is when I started to get really busy.

February 14^th, Valentines Day, Jeremy and I decided to cook a homemade dinner. We made New York Strip, Lobster tail, asparagus, salad, baked potato and homemade Crème Brule.

In March, our really good friends tied the knot. Jeremy was a groomsman and I helped the bride plan and organize the ceremony. I really enjoyed doing that, and I know they both appreciated me. The wedding was held at the Beacon Club with the reception there as well. One of the best parts of the reception was the photo booth she had. There was a booth set up that up to about 10 people could fit in, and there were props and hats and glasses. You went in and took 4 pictures. They printed out on a strip, you got to keep a copy and the other copy went into a scrapbook for the bride and groom. This was such a fun thing to do and everyone enjoyed it!

That seems to bring us to the present. So hopefully I will do a better job at keeping up with everything!
