Life happens

Yesterday, Jeremy got a call at 7:30 in the morning from his grandma saying that he had to come over and help get grandpa off the floor. This was the beginning of an emotional day. Jeremy had to end up taking his grandpa to the ER, they discovered he had a brain bleed and would need surgery ASAP. They found a neurosurgeon in OKC, and he was immediately transferred to OU hospital. He went in for surgery @ 12:57 and was done by 3:00pm. Before he went into surgery, the docs were saying his prognosis was not very good. After his surgery they said he has a 30% chance of making a full recovery. As of this morning he was opening his eyes, he was taken off the ventillator and is moving all his extremeties. He remembers the fall, but doesn't remember anything after that. It's amazing all the support we have received from family and friends. This will be a long recovery, and I just pray that everything goes well.

2 more weeks..

Of clinicals. I can't wait! These past 2 weeks I have been in the ICU and I really enjoyed it. I've gotten to do lots of stuff and take care of some interesting patients. For the next 2 weeks I will be in the CCU. Hopefully it will be as exciting as the ICU has been.

It's getting down to crunch time. I have a service learning project to do, which I might fulfill with the American Red Cross, then I have a paper to write for my alternative therapies class. 2 more tests for my theory. One on the 19th and then my final on May 6th! I can't wait. Graduation is fast approaching. 27 more days. I am excited about this because my family is coming in town. I will get to spend time with them!

Fun Wednesday Night

Last night after I got home from work, I told Jeremy that I thought it would be fun to go on a motorcycle ride. So, we did just that. It was about 7:45, we got our gear on and headed out on the road. Jeremy asked me where I would like to go, I really didn't have a place in mind, so I just told him "wherever you want to drive us". So we took off and rode around the area. He finally pulled in to Rusty's (one of my favorite ice cream places) and he asked me if I wanted some ice cream….Of course I did…I love ice cream. I enjoyed a concrete with Strawberry custard, rice crispy and marshmallow. It really isn't healthy, but it IS really good! After that, we rode around for a bit more, came home and attempted to watch New Moon. We both fell asleep during the movie (we were both tired) Hopefully we will watch it again this weekend :-D
